Artist Nancy Lilly demonstrates how she uses SpectraFix to create deep layering of soft pastel. “I use SpectraFix a great deal in my work. I always lay the artwork horizontally and spray using the special Refillable Aerosol Spray Bottle the company sells on their website. This spray bottle is absolutely the best, and it guarantees an even fine mist. Because this fixative is not toxic I use it with abandon to create basically an underpainting. Once dry, it returns the pastel to a near perfect match of it’s original state, and you enjoy plenty of tooth.
